Animals Helped

We fight to reduce the overcrowding and euthanizing of adoptable pets in our shelters thru education, spaying and neutering, vaccinations, and microchips. Also assistance with lost and found animals, plus disaster relief for pets. Animals are often abused, neglected, or killed and we aim to help relieve that. Each pet rescued by Almost Eden is spayed, neutered, microchipped, updated on vaccines, and rehabilitated if necessary. Our ultimate goal is to find them loving forever homes these animals need and deserve. Please consider volunteering your time, donating funds or supplies, or sharing our rescue so we can continue to rescue animals in need and give them the care and support these animals so desperately need…Almost Eden Rescue~Paradise for Paws

Success Stories

Willie

Willie came in to rescue after being found in a pistachio field with his pal, Nelson in the freezing rain and snow this past winter. We searched for owners for these two for several weeks, until we were informed by a neighbor that both of them had been out there for about two months, as he had been feeding them. At first, Willie would not allow us to get close to him, he had no trust in humans and wouldn’t walk on leash. Over several months with lots of work, Willie began to trust us, started walking well on leash,...

Hank

Hank came into the rescue as a stray after being found running around the 4th of July. We immediately noticed the large mass near his bottom and were concerned that it may be cancerous because of course, he wasn’t neutered. After seeing our vet, with a $700 bill for just diagnostics, imaging, and sedation, we learned that it thankfully wasn’t cancer, but it is in fact a large hernia with his bowels, bladder, and rectum inside of it. Hank had a very involved and very expensive surgery to correct his hernia, and thankfully, it was a success! Hank is still...

Valentina

Valentina came into the rescue after a desperate shelter plea came out for her as she was horribly abused and dumped at the shelter. She was found with a broken leg, a missing eye, and other traumatic injuries as a result of her abuse. Valentina spent many, many months visiting specialists, having procedures, and taking steps to unravel the trauma she sustained as a small pup. Her foster was also a trainer, meaning she got excellent care! Valentina was adopted by a local family with another Boxer, where she spends all of her days snuggled right up to him, playing...

Luna

Luna came in to rescue after being listed by a local shelter as “rescue only” due to the large mass hanging from her abdomen. We were able to get her in to our veterinarian immediately, and it was found that not only had Luna been eating trash to survive, but she also had a severe case of pyometra in addition to the mass. Three vets operated on Luna at the same time to spay her, remove her mass, and clear her stomach of any further foreign bodies. She spent 16 days in the hospital before & after surgery. During her...

Elijah

Elijah came into the rescue as a stray. He was found wandering the streets in horrific condition, covered in matting and filth. His poor toenails were curled into his paw pads on every foot. At the time of his finding, we weren’t even sure of his gender. The next day, Elijah went under general anesthesia to be shaved down without traumatizing him. Upon being groomed, Elijah really showed us his playful side, and we found out that he was estimated to be between 7-9 years old. After a thorough dental treatment, bloodwork, and neuter…Elijah’s foster couldn’t bear the thought of...

Ruby

Ruby came into rescue after being abandoned at a homeless encampment off of a busy California highway. Upon transporters picking her up to bring her to safety, they realized that she was…pregnant! And due any time. We immediately had her evaluated at the vet, who confirmed they saw two puppies. About two weeks after being rescued, Ruby had two precious little gentlemen, Dobby and Sirius. This adorable little family grew up in the rescue President’s home, and all three have been adopted into paw-fect, loving homes following all vetting. (Though the rescue president was very tempted to foster fail with...
