Sadie got to see a specialist! This will be the third vet she has visited. Due to her special case and her age it has been a very hard case.
She is able to walk on her leg. However her hip along with her patella and tibia have issues.
When we saw the specialist on Friday due to her age and that she was able to at least use her leg. Currently we are going to let her grow a little bit more and she will go back to the specialist in 3 weeks to get another x-ray to see her leg is improving with therapy.
The hard part is due to her age. Her bones are still soft. This means when they do the rebrake of her leg it may be harder to put the bone back together which may shorten the leg. If the leg is shortened too much. It could lead to amputation. Currently her one leg is a little bit shorter than the other.
She also is having issues with her patella which is not in the right place based on our growth rate. This will cause problems when she is older. If not fixed now. It is a sticky situation to be in but we know she's in good hands and will be back at the doctors in 3 weeks to see her progress. She will get x-rays again that day to see how things have changed since we got the little angel.
While she waits for her revisit to the vet, she is in the loving care of Laura our amazing foster who we could not do this without! Thank you for being her safety from euthanasia and why she heals.
Thank you. Who those who have helped her along her journey through donating her an amazing pink bed and chew toys to donation to her medical fund. We appreciate everything!
